” …Bella’s got one of my favourite voices in the country.”
– Dave Ruby Howe, triple j Unearthed.

Melbourne artist Bella Venutti (one half of indie outfit IV League) has released a new single titled ‘One More July’, the second offering from her solo moniker prettything.

As the lead singer, guitarist and songwriter for IV League, Venutti has accomplished a lot – from a successful string of radio singles, to playing some of the best festivals in Australia such as Falls FestivalSt Jerome’s Laneway Festival, The Blurst of Times and BIGSOUND. As prettything, she is a very different artist – a quieter, less rock frontwoman and a more sensitive soul with a songwriting focus on what’s happening around her and a self-aware observational glance at the world.

She explains: “‘One More July’ reflects on the way that memories and regrets can be drummed up by the arrival of a season or time in the year. Like a lot of my writing, I wanted to evoke a wistful sense of nostalgia. It’s quite a bittersweet little tune.”

A collaborative result with friend and producer Edvard Hakansson, Venutti was able to realise her vision for the song, a hybrid of flavours and inspirations and something uniquely her own.

‘One More July’ follows the release of last year’s debut ‘Endless Blue’ a single intended to do exactly what it achieved and click reset on music for prettything. It formatively positioned her ideally to launch her first ever live shows and truly immerse herself in her local scene. It received spins on triple j and community radio nationally, but most importantly, awarded a young artist a chance to begin expressing herself as a creative individual.
