Uke-lord and champion of chill Bobby Alu releases a kaleidoscopic visual accompaniment to recent single ‘Move’ as he hits Europe for a 23-date tour.

Premiering on The Music last week, the video for ‘Move’ sees Bobby Alu truly in his element – letting his cruisey drum rhythms and ukulele strumming do the talking. Viewers will be greeted with a crew of Alu’s, flanked by rainbow backdrops and his signature tropic-cool croon.

The clip was conceptualised and created by Johnny Moubarak of Moubment, with Alu commenting:  “This was a fun clip to make! I feel like there are many parts that make up my personality, so I tried to go there in this clip. Putting on whatever hat is necessary is a big part of how I make music; I can be a drummer, bass player, guitarist, uke guy, singer or roadie – whatever the team needs. Sometimes I pick the wrong guy… but they all have their place.”

2018 has already been a huge year for the tropical ambassador as he transitions from a hectic international touring schedule as Xavier Rudd’s drummer, and back into focussing on his chilled island-time project. Kicking off the year with over 20 dates across Australia and New Zealand played in support of the first new Bobby Alu track since 2015, he also wooed the royals during a spotlight stealing performance with Ricki-Lee at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony back in April.

In his quest to chase the summer, Alu has just finished the first leg of a 23-date tour, wooing Europe in support of US acoustic groove merchants Nahko (of Nahko & Medicine For The People) and Trevor Hall. Over the second leg through July and August, he hits some huge festival stages including Sound Of The Forest (Germany) and Boardmasters (UK), in between supporting The Beautiful Girls on their ‘Beautiful World’ tour (and if that wasn’t enough, he’ll also serve as The Beautiful Girls drummer, bringing a little more Alu allure to the European summer).

The music video for ‘Move’ is OUT NOW. Bobby Alu’s tour of Europe continues throughout July and August.
