After two years, Robbie Miller reemerges, offering a soaring new ode to love. The new single ‘Baby’ is a triumphant return to form.

‘Baby’ was written by Miller, produced by Alex Heriksson (Matt Corby, Tia GostelowMoretonThe Ruins) at Plutonium Studio in Brisbane and was mixed by Matt Neighbour (Matt Corby, Missy Higgins, The Temper TrapJen CloherAlexander Biggs). ‘Baby’ sees the crooner draw deeply from his folk roots and stay tapped in to the vulnerable singer/songwriter elements that have enamored fans since his introduction to the national musical landscape in 2013.

Laying himself bare, ‘Baby’ sees Miller return with a newfound confidence, assured in his musicianship and in the enduring power of love, sharing “[‘Baby’] is a song about seeing someone in a room and falling for them. And it’s a true story! It’s my story. It is exactly the kind of thing I was never okay singing about before, but now being that honest and open is something I have become much more comfortable with.’Baby’ is the first taste of Miller’s forthcoming debut album, due out in early 2019.

He first gained national attention in 2013, after taking out triple j Unearthed’s National Indigenous Music Award (NIMA) for Best New Indigenous Talent. This was followed by the release of his duo of EPs: Closer To Home and The Faster The Blood Flows, both of which were championed by triple j and Double J, with Miller enjoying multiple rotation adds to both networks and saw him take on an ODESZA cover for Like A Version. Last year the singer/songwriter took home the  APRA Award for ‘The Pain’ in the Blues and Roots category.

He’s toured extensively on a national scale, including headlining East Coast runs, BIGSSOUND showcases, festival slots at Groovin’ The MooSt Kilda FestivalWoodford Folk Festival and supporting the likes of Josh Pyke and Dustin Tebbutt. This September saw Robbie Miller return to the national stage at BIGSOUND, armed with a new sense of self, and an exciting new repertoire.
