Brisbane’s new wave punk fiends WHALEHOUSE release their highly anticipated debut single ‘Sexy Whale Beach Party’. It’s short, it’s sharp and best enjoyed loud.
The three piece have stayed true to the DIY surf rock elements that make their music so damn compelling. Fervid, ferocious and fun, WHALEHOUSE have spent the better part of two years honing their live show and converting a legion of Brisbane fans into a pod of punk-lovin, moshing marine mammals.
Early 2018 saw the band in the studio properly for the first time with emerging producer Aidan Hogg (WAAX, Landings) to lay down ‘Sexy Whale Beach Party’. L.A.-via-Brisbane’s Miro Mackie (Cold War Kids, St. Vincent, Bishop Briggs) then sharpened the punk inspired cut to it’s brash and unapologetic completion. It’s the forthright, take-no-prisoners debut that could only be expected from WHALEHOUSE.
Kat Bermingham of Mucho Bravado has stuck her management harpoon in the Whalies too, promising many more sexy whale beach parties in the very near future.
Catch them doing what they do best: inducing levels of near hysteria and whipping crowds into a sweaty frenzy at their ‘Sexy Whale Beach Party’ single launch at Black Bear Lodge on April 28.
