Vincent Sole is back with the first electrifying snippet of an exciting year ahead. New single ‘The Game’ – which debuted on Stoney Roads – is a clever slow-burner, unfolding over several minutes of synths that smolder and soar.
This is not about the beats, but the deceptive spaces in between. It’s this sparsity, a result of Vincent’s sessions with Malcolm Besley (Northeast Party House, City Calm Down), that allows the Melbourne artist to showcase his boldest vocal performance to date. Vincent ruminates on the sometimes gritty reality of being young and exposed to affection.
Emerging via triple j Unearthed High two years ago, Vincent took a calculated approach to 2016, honing his craft, penning a management deal with 5/4 Entertainment (City Calm Down, Tkay Maidza) and releasing just one track. ‘Don’t Waste My Time’ produced by Andrei Eremin (Chet Faker, Ta-ku) received praise from the likes of triple j and Indie Shuffle, with the now 19-year-old wrapping the year as one of Pilerats 17 acts to watch in 2017.
All eyes are on Vincent as the year kicks into gear. Expect more music and his debut live shows very soon.
