Both with new, Spring Skier and Ed G & The Show will join forces on Saturday, September 17 for a co-headline show at Brisbane’s Visy Theatre at the Powerhouse. Spring Skier with their debut album We Were Astronomers and Ed G & The Show with a new single ‘In The Morning’, their first material in two years, this pair of fine collectives will be joined by upcoming eclectic-alt-pop outfit Surface Paradise.
Spring Skier has been the side-project of Kane Mazlin and Remy Boccalatte for at least a couple of years now, squeezing jams, the odd gig and recording into the busier than busy schedule of their day job – Hungry Kids of Hungary. Now, with HKoH on their first downtime in three years, Kane and Remy have had the time to polish up their debut album – We Were Astronomers - and are proud to launch it at this event.
Ed G & The Show is the new title given to the music of Edward Guglielmino and his band, a collective of Brisbane musicians made up by drummer Sam Schlencker (Skinny Jean), bassist Rowland Cowper (Cowper) and keys player Kirsty Tickle (Little Scout). The delightful ‘In The Morning’ is the first single from the band’s forthcoming album, which they’ve been chipping away at since earlier in the year with producer Jamie Trevaskis (The Wilson Pickers, Texas Tea, Timothy Carroll, McKisko).
Surface Paradise is the musical brainchild of Brisbane’s Matt Redlich. As one of Brisbane’s best upcoming producers, Matt has worked with the likes of Hungry Kids of Hungary, Ball Park Music, Blame Ringo, Charlie Mayfair, Timothy Carroll and as Surface Paradise, his eclectic love of music and natural ability shines through and comes out as a diverse and unique musical experience.
