Cinematic heartthrob and nostalgic mastermind Royal and the Southern Echo has collaborated with Brisbane-based production whiz Zapéd for a reinvigorated take on 2017 single ‘Hunt Your Love Down’, premiering with Purple Sneakers this week.
Staying true to Bryce Schneider‘s suaveness, the remixed track embodies intimate whispers and unfiltered vulnerability, intertwining layered synths and rich, distorted vocals. Zapéd creates an abstract sonic journey to a world beyond the clouds and far away from tumultuous realities. Euphoria aplenty. ‘Hunt Your Love Down’ encapsulates Schneider’s recollection of a roller-coaster relationship and is accompanied by a horn section from friends The John Steel Singers. The eclectic pairing of two profound musicians in this enigmatic remix has undoubtedly paved a pathway that showcases Schneider’s ability to morph between identities and defy genre conventions.
The second single lifted from a debut EP set for release soon, ‘Hunt Your Love Down’ received a thorough rinse on Double J and the latest remix is sure to have an equally transfixing effect on listeners. Having already shared the stage with the likes of Meg Mac, Bob Evans, Cameron Avery, Husky and Tia Gostelow just to name a few, 2018 is undoubtedly the year of the Royal and the Southern Echo. So put your fave vintage blazer on and don’t hold your love back for a year rich with exciting developments.
