Since inception, The Belligerents have infused the hearts and enticed the dancing shoes of audiences around the country, taking their frenzied, disco-pop tunes to the masses by playing countless mind-blowing sets on renowned stages around the nation.

After first appearing in late 2010 with their debut single, ‘These Hands’, their name spread quickly, elevated by a healthy dose of radio play, as well as being featured in a surge of tastemaker blogs, not only in Australia but also across the globe in New York, Seoul and London.

Following was their debut EP, Less Arty More Party, and an enviable initiation into the live scene. Playing support to an international smorgasbord of acts including Metronomy (UK), Neon Indian (USA), Breakbot (France), and additionally local power-packs, Yacht Club DJs and Strange Talk, the band strengthened their legs and assured their footing as an exciting band, who’s next steps would surely be anticipated.

Entering the studio in late 2011 with producer, Yanto Browning (The Jungle Giants, The Medics, Tara Simmons), armed with their experiences and admiration of bands such as Metronomy and The Rapture, the band had a focused motive to create a bigger and more refined sound. The resulting first track, ‘Infatuation’, delivers a statement that The Belligerents are very ready to take the next step, or indeed, leap.
