HUNGRY KIDS OF HUNGARY SELL OUT THE METRO, SLIP INTO CMJ TOP 50

Proving themselves as one of Australia’s favourite young, live drawcards, Hungry KIds of Hungary’s The Final Escapade Tour is still gaining serious momentum now with Sydney’s Metro Theatre now SOLD OUT, while tickets to the final show at Brisbane’s Hi-Fi is selling fast. These shows are the final for the tour that also features sets from Perth’s The Chemist, Andy Bull and Daniel Lee Kendall (Syd and Bris only).

INTRODUCING ROCKETS

Sydney indie-rockers, Rockets are the most recent addition to the Mucho-Bravado Publicity roster. Having already received a nod from triple j and FBi for their first single ‘Toad’, their forthcoming debut EP is certainly one to listen out for. Richard Kingsmill has described them “to have a little of that awesome early Kings of Leon vibe” whilst Alex Pye at FBi says they have “loud, anthemic, indie tunes you can yell along to.” Their self-titled EP is out on June 3rd through Creative Vibes.

The Medics Announce First Headline Tour

Dan Parsons – On The International Road

Dan Parsons hasn’t been home since December last year thanks to his relentless touring schedule. After the completion of the highly ambitious 50 First Dates Tour with musical mate Steve Grady, it was a mere few days before Parsons jumped on a plane set to land in LA for industry events ASCAP and Musexpo before heading to the UK for The Great Escape and a swell of showcases.

Brisbane’s new boutique music event, Track & Field officially goes on sale tomorrow. Tickets are available for the June 4 event online through Oztix and through Oztix retail outlets.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the line up has had a slight change. Last Dinosaurs, Ball Park Music and The Belligerents will now be joined by up and comers The Jungle Giants. Soundcrane is a compilation of Australian artists creating cover versions of famous or remarkable Japanese music to raise funds for the disaster relief effort in Northern Japan. Musicians around the world owe a lot to Japan – they’ve given us some of the most wildly unique, cute, and totally iconoclastic music, often blazing the trail for others to follow. In the wake of the horrific disaster of March 2011, a group of Australian artists decided to give some back to Japan in the most fitting way they know how – by creating sonic tributes to some of their favourite Japanese bands and artists.
