“A.B. Original aren’t just performing at Laneway, they’re emceeing the entire event – which is sure to be worth going for on its own. Their brand of brash, raw, honesty spat over West Coast classic beats is infectious in more ways than one, not so much “spreading awareness” as “forcing long overdue discourse and self-criticism”. Cannot WAIT.”

There’s something unmistakably mesmerising about D.D.Dumbo and his latest album, ’Utopia Defeated’. This tapestry of captivating sound has been on high rotation in my life since the album was released in October ’16. This album soothed and grounded me, I can’t wait to melt into his set at Laneway, next week!

“English producer, and DJ Tourist A.K.A William, will be returning to Australia for this year’s ‘Saint Jerome’s Laneway Festival’ held in all major Aussie cities in January/February! As well as playing at all the festival locations, the Grammy Award winner will be stopping by at both Sydney’s ‘Factory Theatre,’ and Melbourne’s ‘Corner Hotel’ to lay down his unique take on electronic music.

Tourist’s debut album entitled, ‘U’ gained attention during 2016 by introducing a blend of stripped back, experimental electronica, and more conventional sounds to the mainstream music scene. Passionate underground music fans, like myself were overjoyed to see that tech-wave, and ambient influences had made its way into tunes such as, ‘To have You Back,’ and the LP’s title track ‘U.’ The album was well received by all facets of the electronic music scene through Tourist’s masterful mixing and mashing of genres. Tourist will be bringing his distinctive style to Laneway festival, and will be producing a soulful selection of tunes for everyone to enjoy!”

“Tycho aka Scott Hansen really knows how to build soundscapes. You can bet that if you see him there will be plenty of analogue synths, guitar pedals and prog/electro geeks in attendance. This guy’s latest album Epoch is a masterpiece of epic proportions and I fell in love with it in my headphones during walks with my dogs last year. He takes the listener on an adventure through every twist and turn and I can imagine his live show will magnify the record in all of its splendour. Get ready for walls and walls of sound and don’t stand too close to the speakers. “

Julia Jacklin

Amongst the plethora of bands and artists which will be your new favourite in 12 months or less bubbles Julia Jacklin. ROBBED by The AMP, not making the shortlist for best album of 2016, she is literally Australia’s finest legend-in-the-making – earnest with golden pipes and a cannon of actual #tunes that will stop you in your tracks.
