As if the news of Alex Lahey and The Belligerents touring together for a bunch of free shows wasn’t enough!? Today Summer Bright Lager announce an impressive slew of local supports to get the party started on the East and West coasts.
Joining the tour for the two WA shows is Perth four piece Verge Collection – fresh from announcing the release of their debut album Flaneur out March 30. Jumping on board in Coffs Harbour are locals Bored Shorts whose recent single ‘Day & Age’ made some serious ripples late last year. Seaside fittingly perform a short walk from their namesake with an opening set a few streets back from the beach at Byron Bay Brewery. And fresh from sets at Byron Bay Falls Festival Eliza and the Delusionals and Bugs are hitting up Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast respectively.
Melbourne’s Alex Lahey and psych party-starters The Belligerents lead the charge at the free afternoon shows at picturesque spots around the country which will see two of the hottest records of 2017 brought to life at six intimate shows, all for free. Off the back of wildly popular debut album I Love You Like A Brother, Alex Lahey brings ultra catchy tracks like ‘Every Day’s The Weekend’, ‘I Haven’t Been Taking Care Of Myself’, and title track ‘I Love You Like A Brother’ to coastal fans. Following another astronomical year for The Belligerents, with the release of their album Science Fiction, knock out festival performances and a national tour with The Kooks, these space dwellers bring their raucous, high energy live show back down to earth in time for Summer Sessions. SBL announce their hand-picked, local supports for each location later this month.
From WA to the Sunshine Coast, Summer Bright Lager’s travelling team of artists invite fans and friends to get up close and personal through a series of unique musical experiences and life-on-the-road content. Summer vibes, coastal sunsets sessions and sweet tunes – with a FREE lineup like this, there’s never been a better way to see out summer.
