Picking up right where they left off with ‘Change My Mind’, IV League return with guitar heavy, garage-pop banger ‘Superstar’, the first cut from their forthcoming EP, out later this year.

Conjuring visuals of the late nineties,  IV League’s new single could easily slot in on the‘Ten Things I Hate About You’ soundtrack, sitting snugly in between Letters To Cleoand Hole. ‘Superstar’s slick contemporary sheen smooths IV League’s bubble-grunge influence while retaining the quintessential ringing guitars tones and pop-infused fuzzed out vocals that have enamored fans since the band’s inception.

Employing the assistance of producer Malcolm Besley (City Calm DownThe CreasesNortheast Party HouseClient Liaison) and mastering magic from Grammy award winning Joe LaPorta  (David Bowie, PhoenixThe KillersVampire WeekendGrizzly Bear) ‘Superstar’ is the first taste of what’s to come off their forthcoming debut EP, due out later this year.

Up-sizing the musical treats, IV League present a visual accompaniment to ‘Superstar’ which sees front woman Bella Venutti leading the sonic revolution and inspiring the four-piece to break free from their mundane, fast food jobs that quash their creativity, grab their instruments and drive of into the sunset.

The double up release is comin’ in hot off the back off triple j approved sizzler ‘Change My Mind’ and supercharged live sets at  St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, BIGSOUNDand Falls Festival and a promise that 2018 to be even bigger. IV League should be experienced live, in all their sweaty, sugar-punk glory and East Coast fans will get their chance in early May. Kicking off at The Foundry on May 6, hitting their hometown haunt The Gasometer on the 25th and sinking their teeth into Sydney as a part of Vivid Live.

IV League are officially off the market now, joining forces with Ben Preece in a new partnership, coinciding with Mucho Bravado’s ten year anniversary of artist management and breaking Australia’s best independent bands. IV League also welcome new booking agent Josh Lane on behalf of Sydney’s newest-agency-on-the-block, Four Tone Artists. Read more at The Industry Observer

PRAISE FOR IV LEAGUE
like the best of early Best Coast but heavier, with some of Mitski’s bite and Pavement’s guitar melodies, [IV League] prove that they’re young pioneers in the 90s rock revival
– FASTERLOUDER/Music JunkeeIV League are brewin’ suchhhhhh a good blend of indie-pop. There’s angst, there’s punch but there’s also this sweetness that makes ya just wanna bop!
– Bridget Hustwaite, triple j[Change My Mind] is a monumental display of songwriting, with teenage angst and fragility on show. From the opening beat, this tune oozes groove and MS MR pop goodness.
