GUNG HO ANNOUNCE DEBUT HEADLINE TOUR AND VIDEO CLIP FOR ‘SIDE BY SIDE’
August 10th, 2012 | By
With two internationally acclaimed radio singles working in their favour, Gung Ho have quickly established themselves as one of Australia’s ‘must-see’ up-and-coming acts. After writing and performing almost non-stop for the past 12 months, Gung Ho are now proud to announce their debut headline tour to coincide with the release of their first ever video clip for latest single ‘Side By Side’.
Widespread praise for Gung Ho was sparked in 2011 by the band’s debut single ‘Twin Rays’, with blogs in the UK, USA, Greece, Europe and South America declaring instant elation for the duo’s seamless blend of surf pop and post-punk influences. National youth broadcaster triple j provided strongest support, awarding the band a coveted performance at Brisbane’s Harvest Festival in 2011, and full rotation airplay for ‘Side By Side’.
Gung Ho have demanded the attention of their peers via their explosively tight live show, leading to performances alongside Bleeding Knees Club, The Holidays, Millions, Wavves (USA), and a national tour supporting Last Dinosaurs.
Currently touring the country as main support on Hunting Grounds’ ‘In Hindsight’ National Tour, Gung Ho are set to continue their dedicated relationship with Australia’s touring circuit by leading straight into their own headline tour at the end of this month. The five-date club night tour will culminate in a hometown showcase at Bigsound Live on September 12th.
‘Side By Side’ is currently available for free on Gung Ho’s Bandcamp page.
