Friends of Mucho Bravado, past and present, join BIGSOUND’s stacked festival line up for 2017. Get to know some of the Mucho fam below and get acquainted with some of this year’s festival must sees!
2017 has without question been a full steam ahead type year for the Indie Rock quintet. Fresh off their sold out Wild & Weak tour, the band are heading out on the road again for a massive national tour with Dune Rats, WAVVES (US) and Hockey Dad in September and October. Currently on full rotation on triple j and gracing the airwaves of just about every major community radio station in the country with their latest single ‘Wild & Weak’ peaking on the AIR radio charts at number seven! Adding to the pile of achievements to that national touring support for Fall Out Boy when they head over to Aus in February 2018.
No strangers to success, Wild Honey’s self-titled debut EP in 2016, as well as their first track, ‘Eye To Eye’ scored solid rotation on triple j and the band hit the road nationally with supports for fellow indie darlings The Belligerents, Hinds and Twin Peaks. Rounding out the year with a performance at Lost Paradise, the band racked up a whopping sixty shows in twelve months. Off the back of this success, Wild Honey have launched their very own record label Spillway Records, which launched with their most recent single ‘Break Away’.
Not many are as in control of their own creative journey as much as Lupa J. Still only 19 years old, she’s not only self-released two EP’s and a fistful of singles, but also has entirely recorded, produced, sung and performed virtually everything herself. ‘Put Me Back Together’ is proving to be one of the most embraced, snaring rotation on FBi and spot play on community radio nationwide as well as triple j. The latter’s Unearthed High competition nominated her as a finalist twice, offering her the exposure to be exclusively selected to play some mighty fine supports with the likes of Grimes, Tegan & Sara, Sarah Blasko and K.Flay to name a few.
Not tip-toeing about on the live front, the half Australian, half German musician has been leaving plenty of footprints on stages in 2017 with performances at festivals The Blurst of Times, The Mountain Goat Valley Crawl and support for Confidence Man at three sold out shows. Named as one of GQ Magazine’s ‘Ones to Watch in 2017’, the Melbourne based musician’s ‘Barefoot’ premiered on 2017 with Richard Kingsmill, was added to triple j spot rotation and has amassed almost 500,000 plays on Spotify in just two months. His stunning live show is not to be missed.
Catch all of these fantastic acts live around the Valley at BIGSOUND from the 5-8th of September! Full line up and live schedule details here.
