“Ahhh the wonderful Meg Mac. She graced us with her debut EP in 2014 and took out the triple j Unearthed artist of the year award. Since then she’s signed a huge international record deal, performed at all the major Australian festies, overseas festivals like The Governors Ball and sold out shows in both the UK and US as well as a HUGE Aussie tour. We had a Meg Mac drought in 2016 save for a facebook upload of a candid track Meg recorded at her home, ‘If You Want Me To Stay’ and a track she performed live on her tour ‘Saint Philomene’. It’s safe to say the world is poised for what’s next from one of my favourite artists. What we do know so far is that Meg recorded much of the album overseas and that it’s FINISHED. What we don’t know is pretty much everything else. Where exactly did she record? How many songs are there? Will there be some collabs? Will there be more of her signature neo-gospel/ blue eyed soul style or will she change it up? All I know is that it’s going to be good.”

“St Vincent’s been releasing albums for nigh on a decade and all of them are IMPOSSIBLY good. We don’t have a release date yet, but Annie Clark herself (aka the coolest human in the world now that Bowie’s dead) has called it “the deepest, boldest work I’ve ever done”. She’s promised political overtones too which is very promising – I can’t see anyone riffing on Trump more skilfully & with more acerbic, biting wit than Clark.”

Mura Masa – Album Name To Fall Out Of  Love To

Mura Masa

“English producer, and DJ Mura Masa (Alexander Crossan) has exploded in the past couple of years! Mura Masa is the production mastermind behind the single, ‘Love$ick feat. A$AP Rocky,’ and the superb EP ‘Someday Somewhere.’  This legendary musician will be releasing his highly anticipated second album entitled, ‘To Fall Out Of Love To’ in mid 2017. The album’s name gives a hint to an emotional undertone that the songs will follow, similar to all of Mura Masa’s other work; which is something EVERY hard-core fan wants to see.

The main question is will Mura Masa continue to blend alternative electronic influenced Hip-hop & RnB vibes, with a more traditional EDM/ dance atmosphere; if not, Mura Masa will definitely bring in a whole new vibe to his forthcoming album. Regardless of the sound direction of ‘To Fall Out Of Love To,’ the album is still a highly anticipated release for 2017. Without a doubt Mura Masa will continue with his high quality production, and the album will win my heart, and all the other musical souls in the community.”

Gorillaz – Album Name Not Yet Known

Gorillaz

“The world needs Gorillaz. It feels like Damon Albarn has always been around in various guises but, not to downplay Blur or any of his others in the process, Gorillaz are arguably the most genius. How does one snare the coolest animator in the world and make that the front of a new virtual band? Who knows really aside from delivering classic single after single, cracking album after album and touring the world with an all-star cast of characters that included members of De La Soul and The Clash. Needless to say, the long-awaited fifth album from the animated cast of characters, reported to be “fairly upbeat” will dominate 2017.”

“Thank goodness… HAIM are set to bless us with their latest masterpiece, summer 2017. Between their last album in 2013 (Days are Gone) and now, the three sisters from California have worked with rock, pop and hip-hop legends Tame Imala, Lorde, Kid Cudi and Major Lazor…. Just to name a few. So, while we might be anticipating a follow-up album full of wonderful guest talent, that may not be the case, Danielle Haim recently explained: “We wanted to get back to our so-called roots. We needed just it be the three of us in the beginning. We just wanted to get back in the zone.”

Late 2016, the sisters teased us with two tracks from the album, two magical tunes, “Nothing’s Wrong” and “Give Me Just a Little of Your Love” with notes that the only outside influence on these tracks came from their producer, Ariel Rechtshaid and friend Rostam Batmanglij (ex-Vampire Weekend member).

In an article posted via ‘EW.Entertainment’, Este Haim said “You don’t even know what’s coming for you. I’m warning you. You. Don’t. Even. Know.”

I guess we’ll just have to wait…”
