A RESIDENCY WITH TIMOTHY CARROLL AND SPECIAL GUESTS

October 21st, 2011 | By

Timothy Carroll returns to our shores having meandered his way across western Europe playing shows in Paris, Dubin, Berlin, Stockholm and at the Glastonbury Festival in the UK. As well as performing these shows Carroll has penned and recorded a diary of new songs, one for each month of the year he was away. A collection of tunes he released online under the title the Swedish tapes.

Now back in Brisbane, Carroll has gathered a new band featuring  former “family-yah” guitarist Grim Tilla, “Hungry Kid” Ryan Strathie on drums as well as bass from Stu Barry and vocals from the Black Bear Lodger Corinna Scanlon.

November will see Carroll and band take to the stage to break in the new tunes with a month long residency at the Joynt on the banks of the Brisbane River. The Residency, billed as ‘
Three times a charm’, will feature  Carroll and band performing  three Wednesday nights in a row and joined by a stellar line up of guests: Tom Cooney, McKisko and BigStrongBrute as well as some interesting non musical entertainment between sets.

These gigs will be the last before Carroll heads back into the studio to record his sophomore album with local producer Matt Redlich
