NANTES RELEASE DEBUT EP AND ANNOUNCE EAST-COAST TOUR
October 13th, 2011 | By
Having played in backing bands for Jonathan Boulet and Grace Woodroofe, the members of Nantes have worked with a variety of musicians and producers over the last few years. Late 2010 Nantes collected their ideas together and settled into Studios 301 in Sydney to record with producer/engineer Simon Todkill. With influences ranging from post-punk icons Joy Division to The Strokes, the EP builds upon the pulsating revelry of the lead track ‘Fly’ which triple j embraced across it’s national airwaves. Now, Nantes hit the road to reach that audience live.
Nantes were recently selected as NSW winners of the triple j Unearthed Parklife competition and invited to perform at the festival in Sydney followed by the Unearthed Digital Radio launch at The Metro. As an Unearthed act, Nantes‘ ‘Fly’ has recently been selected as the backing track for the Unearthed television commercial.
After their first east coast tour as main support for Ernest Ellis & The Panamas, Nantes continue their live music experience with their first headline tour commencing November 4 in Melbourne.
EP is released digitally on October 21 and in stores on November 4.
