M Jack Bee is set to deliver his upcoming single ‘Sound of Love’ released nationally on October 14th. To celebrate, the charismatic soloist from Byron Bay, is heading out for a run of east coast shows to release the track, with his first band in tow.
‘Sound of Love’ follows his 2010 release ‘In Loops’ which received praise from Rhythm Magazine (‘world class’) and TIME OFF proclaimed the live show ‘a revelation’. Recorded in a single day in Sydney, this release was influenced by the expertise of producer Dave Symes (MD for Sarah Blasko, Sleepy Jackson).
As a live studio affair, the record showcases dynamic, full-band arrangements for the first time in M Jack Bee’s career: “The sounds that I was hearing in my head, and the music that was moving me had other people playing in it… It seemed otherworldly, and I wanted to explore that.”
After undertaking an extended stint of writing since his last EP, M Jack Bee has delved into an observational perspective on ‘Sound of Love’. The record captures the lyrically longing, heartbreakingly honest poetry of yesteryear, with a keen touch of satire: “I was observing what made me turn to lyrics of heartbreak. It seems it’s the stories of love and lost love that captivate us most. We love to see people’s hearts break and be tested and I think it’s hard to unsubscribe ourselves from that culture.”
With a live performance that has received widespread adoration throughout the country, M Jack Bee will be accompanying his single release with a string of headline shows across the east coast this November. Additionally, he will be touring throughout October and November as opening support on Pete Murray’s upcoming 18-date Australian tour alongside Busby Marou.
