Pluto Jonze Announces Plastic Bag In A Hurricane Single Tour
September 19th, 2011 | By
Pluto first entered the music scene when he picked up the 2009 Tropfest Music Award, ‘Tropscore’ at the age of just 22. Two years of writing and producing self-penned material ensued, culminating in a sound and style uniquely his own.
Always with his pop sensibilities at the forefront, Jonze eyed influence from greats like Bowie and Beck from an early age, but soon developed his own intrinsic style of layered, vintage, and occasionally sonically experimental pop.
His debut self-titled EP – released this year – was co-produced by himself and Tony Espie (Cut Copy, The Holidays, Midnight Juggernauts) and released via Stop Start in May. It has already spurred first single ‘Meet You Under Neon’, a simmering mix of reverb-drenched vocals and genre-bending sounds while the new single – ‘Plastic Bag In A Hurricane’ – continues where this left off, expanding his realm of other-worldly pop.
Having run his paces performing alongside the likes of local favourites The Jezebels, Andy Bull, Jinja Safari as well as a solid performance at this year’s Bigsound, Pluto Jonze is ready to once again take the headline spot – all evidence indicates this is an artist to watch.
