The Jungle Giants Stampede

September 16th, 2011 | By

Brisbane indie-popsters, The Jungle Giants seem to have made quite the name for themselves. With their debut single ‘Mr Polite’ garnering national radio attention and their live show consistently wowing all in attendance, it’s no surprise the four-piece have been invited on tour with fellow Brisbanites Ball Park Music this October. The tour also sees the band make their debut appearance at the always colourful Valley Fiesta.
After unleashing their debut, self-titled EP earlier this year, The Jungle Giants have been active on the live circuit supporting Andy Bull on his Phantom Pains Tour, an all ages show supporting Regurgitator and a run of east coast club shows. Their most recent performance at BIGSOUND Live to a packed out Zoo has got punters and industry buzzing.
The songwriting of front man Sam Hales has also been noticed with the singer and guitarist being awarded the Billy Thorpe Scholarship at this year’s Queensland Music Awards.
With their catchy first offering ‘Mr Polite’ currently enjoying rotation on triple j, and more shows in sight, it’s pretty clear that The Jungle Giants are just getting started.
