BEN SALTER PLAYS VINYL THIS SUNDAY

April 25th, 2011 | By

Sunday sessions at Vinyl – the bar at The Hi-Fi in West End – just got a whole lot better this week with Brisbane’s own Ben Salter picking up the acoustic for a quiet session of the finest this town has seen. Celebrating the re-launch of his solo debut EP Perceived Slights, Salter will play a couple of quiet sets at 5 and 6pm.

While best known as a founding member of The Gin Club, Giants of Science and The Wilson Pickers where most of compositions end up, Salter is no stranger to appearing alone in the spotlight and has slowly accrued a collection of his own songs.

“I firmly believe Ben to be one of the world’s great singers, and if I weren’t so goddamn competitive, one of its great songwriters.”

Tim Rogers

“As part of The Wilson Pickers, Giants Of Science and The Gin Club, Ben Salter is familiar to many in the room as an integral part in a band cog. But as a solo entity, (he) brings.. an entirely new element to the table.”
