FLOAT ON RAISES OVER $50K FOR FLOOD VICTIMS
February 25th, 2011 | By
As Mother Nature continues to demonstrate the extent of her abilities across the globe, it seems somewhat bittersweet to announce that two nights of Float On presented by The Hi-Fi and Mucho-Bravado raised a total amount of $51,052.68 for Queensland flood victims.
Eager punters gathered for one of the gigs of the year – Sunday, February 6 – Regurgitator blew minds and Custard evoked broad grins that simply couldn’t be wiped while Kate Miller-Heidke, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Screamfeeder, Gentle Ben & His Sensitive Side and Little Scout gave all they had and then some for The Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal.

Night two – Monday, February 7 – brought an even better set from Regurgitator (if that’s at all possible) while The John Steel Singers, The Boat People, Ball Park Music and Numbers Radio dazzled all with their own sets of empassioned glory.
Aside from the bands, many contributed – from the sound and lighting guys, to the stage hands, guitar techs and Brisbane Backline, volunteers were aplenty and all deserve to be listed by name – sadly we don’t have that list. Time Off and Rave Mag donated advertising while Valley Edge and Deanster Draws assited with posters and Jim Beam threw it all at the wall with alcohol donations. The Hi-Fi team couldn’t have been more co-operative, donating not only use of their room but also all the profits from both nights to the cause.
Thank you EVERYBODY!
