Spring has Sprung and Summer is on the way. It’s time to have a Listening Party – what will be the latest and greatest sounds?

The Cairos’ new single ‘Listening Party’ (part of their forthcoming Summer Catalog release) is now ready for young, furtive minds to ingest.

It is without doubt, one of those freakish phenomena:  young bands.  How’d they get so good, so talented, so polished – so quickly?

The Cairos happen to be one of those artists – right from their debut gig as teenagers it seemed inevitable they were destined for great things.  More to the point, they instantly bypass that age-old stigma young bands suffer from – flash-in-the-pan, instant, throwaway fame. Instead, they portray a sound far more mature than their second release belies.

It has nary been more than two years since that time and The Cairos have filled the Zoo for the launch of their debut EP Lost at Sea, they have since supported Powderfinger at the Q150 Celebrations at the Brisbane Riverstage and played with iconic Australian acts such as You Am I, The Temper Trap, Bertie Blackman, Wolf and Cub, Mercy Arms, Custard, The Middle East and Yves Klein Blue.

Not bad at all for a band whose members’ ages are barely 20 years old.
Aiding the recording process for the single and the sophomore EP was ARIA-award winning producer, Scott Horscroft (Silverchair, The Presets, The Drones) at Big Jesus Burger Studios in Sydney, who took the helm for the recording and brought the best out of the four Brissy boys.

‘Listening Party’ will be unleashed to audiences nationwide as the band feature at Brisbane’s Bigsound and Valley Fiesta events next week before they hit the road for a headline show in Sydney. Set to be a massive couple of months for the band they then continue the touring trail with The Mess Hall and Powderfinger, not to mention a stop over at the Gold Coast’s Parklife festival.
