THE MEDICS NOMINTATED FOR TWO DEADLYS
August 5th, 2010 | By tyler
Closely following their nomination for a Q Song Courier Mail People’s Choice Award for their single ‘Joseph’, Cairns band The Medics are again being recognised as a rising national talent in the 16th annual Deadlys held at the Sydney Opera House on September 27.
In Australia’s biggest celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, The Medics are nominated in both Band Of The Year and Most Promising New Talent in Music categories, sharing the honour alongside past award recipients Gurrumul Yunupingu, Jimmy Little, Jessica Mauboy and Dan Sultan.
The nominations follow a massive year for the four-piece who have extensively toured their EP This Boat We Call Love throughout the nation, been unearthed by triple j, rocked festival slots at The Dreaming and Groovin’ The Moo, and were a subject within Foxtel’s recently aired documentary series Who We Are.
