Timothy Carroll – February Brisbane Powerhouse Resident
January 18th, 2010 | By tyler

Tidily closing an incredible 2009 with packed holiday sets at Woodford, Timothy Carroll now offers some folk-tinged respite to Brisbane’s after-work crowd by taking part in The Residents program each Friday evening in February at the Powerhouse.
Free to all and kicking off at 6pm on the Turbine Platform, the month-long program showcases the 2009 Song Of The Year winner (Q Song) in his most endearing format – a home-town residency. Inventive in his ability to continually offer something fresh in style or atmosphere, Carroll ventures into electric guitar territory for the first time, despite a fond attachment to his trusty acoustic that has served him so well.
Accompanied by a band of talented old world musicians, the residency will encompass Carroll’s relaxed blend of folk, soul, country and gospel from his 2009 debut album ‘for bread & circuses’, as well as taking audiences on an aural tour of material earmarked for a forthcoming EP release.
So whether you’re rejoicing for the end of the work week or the start of the weekend, whether you like your folk loose and lyrical or your country drunk and heartbroken – Brisbane Powerhouse each Friday in February with Timothy Carroll is just the place you need to be.
Timothy Carroll’s debut album ‘for bread & circuses’ is available on iTunes and through selected records stores.
