‘Seamless, intelligent shimmering pop with instant appeal and that classic songwriting stamp on songs made to last’ – Pat Whyte, Courier Mail

If there’s one thing Brisbane’s emerging indie upstarts Hungry Kids of Hungary can’t be accused of, it’s being lazy. 2009 has already proved to be an incredibly productive time for the four-piece and it’s only February. Already they’ve experienced the big stage at Gold Coast’s Big Day Out as well as continuing (and increasing) their run of airplay with their first single ‘Set It Right’.

But now it’s time to cut the secret squirrel garble and truly get the show on the road for 2009. The lads have polished off a second EP in just a matter of a couple of weeks. It’s a four-track slice of gold entitled Mega Mountain and it will receive its grand unveiling at a show sooner than you might think. But in the meantime, you can pick up their debut, self-titled offering repackaged in a fancy new digipak at your local record store from March 7 thanks to MGM Distribution.

As for the tour diary, well the band has announced just the first handful of an absolute plethora of shows to follow in the coming couple of months. They will begin the run with a trio of shows with Kate Miller-Heidke before headlining their own show at the Troubadour Thursday, March 12 and also at the Gold Coast Saturday, March 14. Then it’s off to Sydney the following weekend, more details on that one soon. After that, there is a rather massive surprise for you instore – stay tuned!
