October 16th, 2008 | By ben
This November will see Japan’s beatific mop-tops, The Bawdies, return to Australia for a ten-date East Coast tour.
Along for the ride is longtime Bawdies fans and fellow beat merchants, local Melbourne combo, The Basics (pictured).
The Bawdies and The Basics will do battle in a winner takes all Asia-Pacific rhythm & blues beat-em-up, guaranteed to induce some serious hip-shaking action.
The fun will take place in venues across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT in November and December.
Both bands will be undertaking some serious solo warm-ups with The Bawdies intent on destroying festival goers’ minds at The Queenscliff Music Festival and The Basics honing their chops in a mammoth 21-date high school, regional and outback tour.
Since their first Australian tour last year, The Bawdies have recorded their sophomore album, Awaking of Rhythm and Blues, wowing fans again with their melodic pop that conjures up nostalgic images of yesteryear, reminding us all of better, more fun times.
