Fresh off the high that was a sell-out show for Emma Dean’s album launch of Real Life Computer Game, we are now proud to announce that one of the songs from the album – ‘Orange Red’ – has been announced as a finalist for the 2008 Courier Mail People’s Choice Awards. From midnight tonight until 11:59pm on Monday, July 7, you can head to the Courier Mail’s website and vote for the song.
The stunning ‘Orange Red’ is the centrepiece and one of the quieter moments on Emma’s otherwise theatrical debut. The song is another confessional piece and, as always, has a real story to tell:
“Originally this song was written about a boy I loved who was going through a tough transition in his life,” she reveals. “When I sing it now, it simply reminds me how powerful it is to stick by someone even when they are in their ugliest hour – to hold someone’s hand through the truly horrible times. When the sky is orange red and the fire is burning it takes courage and strength to face these flames together.”
